Established in 2015, Bunka Suginami Canadian International School (BSCIS) is a British Columbia-certified offshore school offering the British Columbia curriculum to students in grades 7-12.
Through our Double-Diploma Program with host school Bunka Gakuen University Suginami Junior and Senior High, students study both the British Columbian and Japanese curricula concurrently. Upon graduation, they earn both a Japanese High School Certificate of Graduation and a British Columbia Dogwood Diploma. The British Columbia curriculum is recognized as one of the best in the world; students from the province consistently achieve high scores in international assessments for Math, Reading, and Science. BSCIS and its faculty are committed to teaching excellence. Since the 2023-24 school year, BSCIS has hosted teacher candidates from the University of Victoria, mentoring the next generation of professional teachers in the Province of British Columbia. BSCIS graduates pursue post-secondary education at leading domestic and overseas post-secondary institutions. Overseas destinations for the Class of 2025 include Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Mount Allison University, National Taiwan University, Simon Fraser University, the University of Amsterdam, the University of British Columbia, University College Dublin, the University of Ottawa, the University of Sydney, the University of Toronto, and the University of Victoria. |
