Each year, our Grade 10 students have the opportunity to participate in a multi-week study experience in British Columbia, Canada. Through partnerships with public Canadian educational institutions, students are able to engage in meaningful academic learning while immersing themselves in local culture, community life, and the natural environment. 毎年、Grade 10（高校1年相当）の生徒は、カナダ・ブリティッシュコロンビア州にて、数週間にわたるスタディプログラムに参加する機会があります。カナダの公立教育機関との連携を通じて、生徒は学問的な学びを深めるとともに、現地の文化や地域社会、そして豊かな自然環境に触れる経験を得ることができます。 Now entering its second decade, both Bunka Suginami Canadian International School (BSCIS), and the Double Diploma (DD) program, have evolved significantly since its inception. Students’ English proficiency has steadily increased, overseas university pathways have become more common, and graduates demonstrate higher levels of independence, motivation, and academic achievement, many earning Honors recognition upon graduation. Bunka Suginami Canadian International School（BSCIS）およびダブルディプロマ（DD）プログラムは、現在11年目を迎えています。プログラム開始当初と比べ、生徒の英語力は大きく向上し、卒業後に海外大学への進学を目指す生徒も年々増えてきました。また、生徒一人ひとりの主体性や学習への意欲も高まり、卒業時には Honors（成績優秀） として表彰される生徒が多く見られるようになっています。 These developments allow us to thoughtfully re-examine how international experiences best support students at different stages of the program. こうした教育環境の成熟や生徒の成長を踏まえ、BSCISおよびDDプログラムにおける国際的な学習機会の在り方についても、継続的に見直しと充実を図っています。 As part of this ongoing refinement, the Study in Canada experience is being positioned as a flexible and optional opportunity, rather than a single, fixed requirement. Curriculum developments now allow key courses to be designed and instructed by our BC teachers in Japan, and changing global conditions have made it increasingly important to offer families a range of participation options that balance educational value with accessibility. これまで高校段階の一部学年では、カナダでの履修を前提とした科目がありましたが、カリキュラムの進展により、日本国内での履修も可能となりました。また、近年の社会情勢を踏まえ、学校としては生徒・ご家庭の状況に応じて選択できる形が望ましいと考え、カナダでの研修は必須ではなく、希望制のプログラムとして位置づけています。 Looking ahead, Study in Canada opportunities may include combinations of: 今後の Study in Canada プログラムでは、以下のような要素を組み合わせた多様な形態が想定されています。 ・Short- to multi-week programs in British Columbia ・Homestay and/or university residence-based experiences ・Academic enrichment, experiential learning, and cultural immersion ・Options appropriate for students at different points in the Double Diploma pathway. Specific program structure, duration, location, and credit options are reviewed regularly and finalized closer to each academic year, allowing the BSCIS to respond to student needs, curriculum priorities, and external conditions such as the Japanese economy. プログラムの具体的な内容（構成、期間、実施地、単位の有無など）については、毎年定期的に検討を行い、各学年度に近い時期に最終決定されます。これにより、BSCISは生徒のニーズやカリキュラム上の優先事項、ならびに日本の経済状況などの外部要因にも柔軟に対応していきます。 As we prepare to welcome the twelfth cohort of Grade 10 students to BSCIS in April 2026, we remain committed to ensuring that international experiences continue to be a meaningful, well-supported highlight of the Double Diploma journey—one that reflects the growing maturity, capability, and global outlook of our students. 2026年4月には、第12期となるGrade 10の生徒をBunka Suginami Canadian International School（BSCIS）に迎える予定です。今後も国際的な学習体験が、ダブルディプロマ（DD）プログラムにおける意義深く、十分に支援された学びのハイライトであり続けるよう、生徒一人ひとりの成熟度や能力、そして国際的な視野の成長を反映したプログラムの提供に努めてまいります。
